About Cashout
Cashout is a shift and tip tracker for tipped workers, built and maintained by one independent developer who goes by NorseHorse. There's no company behind it and no investors to answer to.
Who writes the guides
I do. Every guide on this site is written by me, NorseHorse, the same person who builds the app. I'm not a lawyer or a tax preparer, and nothing here is legal or tax advice. What I can promise is that the numbers come from the source, not from another blog.
How the guides are checked
Each guide lists the sources it relies on, mostly the IRS, the U.S. Department of Labor, and state labor departments, along with the date it was last checked against them. Wage pages get rechecked when rates change, which for most states is January 1, with some changing on July 1 or other dates. When a rule changes, the guide changes, and the date at the top moves.
If you spot something wrong or out of date, email support@cashout.tips. Corrections get fixed, and I read every message.
How the app makes money
Right now it doesn't. Every feature in Cashout is free, and there are no ads in the app or on this site. A paid tier with extra features is planned for later. Tracking your shifts and tips stays free.
Privacy on this site
This site has no analytics scripts, no cookies, and no trackers. The server keeps standard access logs, and the traffic reports I read from them leave out full IP addresses. Download links tell the App Store and Google Play which page of this site you came from, and nothing about you. How the app handles your data is in the privacy policy.
