Best tip tracker apps (2026)

Seven tip and shift trackers you can download today, plus Cashout. What each one does, what it costs according to its own listing, when it was last updated, and where it beats Cashout.

Most of these apps do the same core job: you log a shift's cash tips, card tips, tip-out and hours, and the app shows your real hourly rate and your totals. The differences are in price, platform, and the extras. We found five of the seven only on the App Store. If you're on Android, your choices on this page are TipSee, Tipwise and Cashout.

The App Store shows dates from this year without the year, and very recent updates as "1d ago" or "2d ago". We copied what the listings show.

ServerLife

ServerLife is a tip and income tracker for anyone paid in tips, commissions or by the shift. The free version tracks tips, hours and notes, with daily to yearly totals, entry reminders, and a month-end income forecast built from your own shift history. Premium adds separate cash and credit tips, tip-outs, hourly wages, sales and tip percentage, covers and sales per cover, service charges, expenses, mileage and delivery fees, multiple jobs, and what-if scenarios such as what an extra shift would add to your month. The listing says your data is backed up to the cloud automatically.

Better than Cashout at: covers and sales per cover, what-if planning, and automatic cloud backup. Cashout backups are manual unless you sign in and sync.
Suits: servers who think in covers and sales and want a forecast, and don't mind paying for the details.

TipSee

TipSee logs tips by date, weekly income, hourly wage and tip-outs, with multiple jobs. It's ad supported: the listing says you get the advanced features free by viewing video ads, or you can pay to remove ads. The Android listing mentions photos of time cards or sales receipts attached to your records, a home screen widget, trend reports, and export to Excel.

Better than Cashout at: attaching photos of time cards and sales receipts to your tip records. Cashout scans receipts only for expenses.
Suits: people who want one app on both iPhone and Android and are fine with ads.

Server44

Some App Store links to this same listing (app ID 6758269550) still show the name Tips45; the current listing shows Server44. It tracks cash and card tips with automatic calculations on every entry, your true hourly rate, multiple jobs (one job is free, more need Pro), pay periods, and an estimated paycheck with federal and state tax. It exports PDF and CSV, needs no account, and the listing says all data stays on your phone.

Better than Cashout at: languages. The current listing shows English and 38 more; Cashout on iPhone is English only today.
Suits: iPhone users who want an offline tracker in their own language.

TipStation

TipStation logs cash tips, card tips, tip-outs and hourly wages across workplaces, summarizes expenses by category, and generates tax reports and income verification letters as PDFs. It has an AI earnings coach called SAM that you can talk to by voice and that reads receipt photos. The listing says all features require a TipStation Pro subscription, after a free three-day trial.

Better than Cashout at: income verification letters. Cashout's PDF reports are your own shift records, not a letter for a landlord or lender.
Suits: someone who needs proof of income and will pay monthly for it.

TipMax

TipMax logs cash and credit tips, tip-outs, hours and sales, shows your true hourly rate, and groups totals by pay period. Version 3.1 added paycheck taxes and deductions, tips your workplace still owes you, and photo attachments for pay stubs and tip sheets. It can import your history from Waiter Pal, ServerLife, TipTracker and JustTheTips. Data stays on your device and in iCloud, and tracking never needs an account. Logging unlimited shifts requires a subscription.

Better than Cashout at: tracking tips you're still owed, and bringing in history from those four apps.
Suits: iPhone users switching from another tracker who want their data kept in iCloud without an account.

Tipwise

Tipwise logs tips, hours and tip-outs across workplaces, tracks card versus cash tips and tips-only shifts, and has dashboard goals, a calendar and reports. Its Play listing says version 2.0 is a native Android build that shares an account and data with tipwiseapp.com. The listing shows no ads or in-app purchases.

Better than Cashout at: a website tie-in. The listing says the app uses the same account and data as tipwiseapp.com; Cashout has no web version.
Suits: Android users who want something simple and free.

TipKeep (formerly TipJar)

Its App Store version history says "TipJar is now TipKeep," and its in-app purchases are still labeled TipJar Pro. It logs cash tips, card tips and hours fast, with optional tip-outs, sales and notes, works offline, and needs no account. Logging is free with this week's totals and 30 days of history; Pro ($7.99 a month or $19.99 a year in the listing's description) adds full history, month and year stats, multiple jobs and CSV export. CSV import from other apps is free. The latest update added an anonymous server benchmark that shows where you rank.

Better than Cashout at: No Tax on Tips. The listing describes the deduction and shows a year-to-date tip total for tax time. Cashout doesn't handle the deduction yet.
Suits: someone who wants a quick logger and only cares about recent weeks unless they pay.

Cashout

Cashout logs each shift's cash and card tips, tip-out, hours and mileage, with Tip Split by points, Paycheck Check against your stubs, Cash Flow with recurring bills, tax estimates, tax savings, overtime, expenses with receipt scanning, reports and widgets. It's free, works offline and needs no account. Android 6.1.1 is ahead of the iPhone app: Android also has the shift timer, Spanish, and backup and restore (all coming to iPhone), and self-employment (1099) tax estimates, which are Android only. See the feature list.

Where Cashout falls short

How we compared

On October 16, 2026 we read each app's own App Store or Google Play listing and recorded the name, platforms, price model, in-app purchase prices and latest update exactly as shown. We started from apps seen in the stores this month and from searches for "tip tracker", and kept apps that are live and updated this year. We did not install or test the competitors, and we left out ratings and download counts because they change daily. Google Play's search page wouldn't load for us, so the Android picks came from web searches and direct listing checks; we may have missed some. NorseHorse makes Cashout, so read this page with that in mind.
