Features / Paycheck Check
Paycheck Check
Paycheck Check puts your pay stub next to the shifts you logged for the same period, so missing hours, wages or tips stand out while the pay period is still fresh. The pay period forecast shows roughly what your next check should be before it arrives.
How it works
Check a pay stub
- On Android, open Insights, then Tools, then Paycheck Check.
- Add a pay stub: the pay period dates, gross pay, net pay, hours and tips from the stub. You can pick the job it's for, so only that job's shifts are counted.
- Cashout adds up what your logged shifts say you should see: wages plus the tips you reported to your employer, with overtime figured for each Monday to Sunday week over 40 hours.
- Each stub is marked as matching, a minor gap or a major gap. Open it to see the stub and your shifts side by side.
- Once you've sorted it out, mark it resolved and add a note, like "manager added the missing Saturday".
On Android, a stub that matches shows Looks good. One that doesn't shows What you can do with next steps. After three or more stubs, Discrepancy history shows how often your checks have been off.
Cash tips you took home aren't expected on the paycheck, so they're left out of the comparison. Tips you reported are expected, because your employer runs them through payroll.
Pay period forecast
At the top of Insights on Android, the This pay period card projects your next paycheck. It adds the shifts you've already worked in the current pay period to the shifts you have scheduled, and estimates tips for each scheduled day from your average for that weekday over your last 20 shifts. You get a likely amount and a range. Tap it for the Pay period forecast with a day by day breakdown and chart.
Set Pay Period in Settings so the forecast and Paycheck Check line up with how often you're actually paid. Without it, the forecast uses a Monday to Sunday week.

The iPhone version on the App Store (5.0.0) compares your stub with your total earnings, cash tips included, and checks overtime across the whole pay period instead of each week. For tipped workers that means it often shows a major gap that isn't real, and a normal two week stub with 80 hours can be flagged for overtime. Its Paycheck Predictor assumes you're paid every two weeks and uses your average hours. Fixes for both are coming to iPhone. Until then, the Android version gives the more reliable comparison.
What it doesn't do
- You type the stub in. Cashout doesn't scan pay stubs or connect to your employer's payroll.
- It only knows the shifts you logged. A shift you forgot to log will look like your employer overpaid you.
- Overtime is checked by the federal weekly rule only. It doesn't apply daily overtime or other state rules.
- It's an estimate, not a legal finding that you were underpaid. Use it to know what to ask your manager or payroll about.
- The forecast isn't a guarantee. A scheduled day in the past with no logged shift counts as $0.
Paycheck Check and the forecast work with no account and no internet.
