Home screen widgets
Cashout's widgets put the numbers you check most on your home screen: what you made today, how the week is going, how much you've set aside for taxes and when you work next. You see them without opening the app.
The four widgets
- Daily Earnings: what you've made today.
- Weekly Total: this week's earnings, tips and hours.
- Tax Savings: your progress on setting money aside for taxes. See tax estimates.
- Next Shift: your next scheduled shift from the Calendar. See shift tracker.
Which one to add
If you work most days, Daily Earnings is the quick check at the end of a shift. If you're watching a weekly target or your hours, Weekly Total shows earnings, tips and hours together, which helps when you're near your overtime threshold. If you set money aside for taxes, Tax Savings keeps your progress in view so it doesn't slip. Next Shift is useful when your schedule changes week to week. You can add more than one.
Every widget reads the same data as the app, so what it shows depends on what you've logged and scheduled.
How it works
Android
- Long-press an empty spot on your home screen and tap Widgets. The exact wording depends on your phone.
- Find Cashout and drag the widget you want onto the home screen.
On Android the widgets update whenever your data changes, like when you log a shift, and every 30 minutes. On Android 12 and later they can follow your wallpaper colors.
iPhone
- Touch and hold an empty spot on the home screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget.
- Search for Cashout, choose a widget and place it.
On iPhone the widgets update when you log a shift and when you open the app.
Android and iPhone
| Android | iPhone | |
|---|---|---|
| All four widgets | Yes, since 6.0.0 | Yes |
| Updates | On any data change and every 30 minutes | When you log a shift or open the app |
| Works on | Android 8.0 and later | In 5.0.0, only on iOS 26.2 and later |
In iPhone version 5.0.0 the widgets only load on iOS 26.2 or later, even on iPhones where the app itself runs fine. If you can't add a Cashout widget on an older iOS version, that's why. Widget support for older iOS versions is coming to iPhone.
What they don't do
- They're read-only. You can't start a shift, log tips or enter anything from a widget.
- To start and end a shift timer from outside the app on Android, use the Shift tile in Quick Settings instead. A shift timer is coming to iPhone.
- They only show what you've logged. The Next Shift widget is empty if you haven't scheduled any shifts in the Calendar.
- On iPhone, a change you make in another way, like an edit synced from another phone, may not show until you open the app.
The widgets work with no account and no internet. They read the data already on your phone.
